A peaberry is a natural mutation of the coffee bean inside its cherry.
Normally coffee beans grow two to a fruit, flat against each other like halves of a peanut, but a funny thing happens in about 5% of the world's coffee, and a bean is born an only child.
Peaberries are considered superior to the rest of coffee beans harvested, and tend to be smaller, more dense and harder then regular coffee beans. They are noticeably sweeter and more flavorful than a standard bean.
Our family farm is located in Monteverde's West Valley, surrounded by lush vegetation, butterflies, and songs from birds and parrots. Our goal is to portray that beauty in our packaging, and our philosophy of sustainable farming with 100% compostable coffee bags. Enjoy paradise with every sip!
